Community Involvement
The team at Schneider Family Dentistry does not take our own blessings for granted and we do our best to support others in our community. We have carefully selected a few excellent organizations to support:
- Maryland Foundation of Dentistry
- Maryland State Dental Association Programs for Underserved Populations
- Ronald McDonald House
- Stepping Stones Shelter
Maryland Foundation of Dentistry Donated Dental Program
The Maryland Foundation of Dentistry coordinates comprehensive dental care for Maryland adults with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities. These patients receive free care through the generosity of a network of volunteer dentists and laboratories whose services are performed at significantly discounted fees. Led by Dr. Bill, our dentists have been donating dental care to recipients for many years. We are proud to care for several MFD recipients every year, and we often continue to provide routine and emergency dental care even after their initial treatment plan has been completed. Their happy and pain-free smiles are the best!
Maryland State Dental Association Programs for Underserved Populations
The MSDA Mission of Mercy (MOM) clinics provide free dental care to those in need. Its Give Kids a Smile program offers free oral health care to underserved children. The Give Veterans a Smile partnership with the American Dental Association envisions a Maryland where all veterans, regardless of their insurance status or financial circumstances, have access to essential dental care and a trusted dental home. Dr. Bill, Dr. Adam and his associates have all participated in Mission of Mercy clinics and Give Kids A Smile programs over the years. As the Give Veterans a Smile Program grows, Dr. Adam and his team will be providing dentists for these deserving service members as well.
Ronald McDonald House
The Ronald McDonald House, a non-profit formed in 1974, is dedicated to caring for families with children who are ill or injured. Its programs and services address the essential needs of families around the world so they can focus on the health and well-being of their child. They have houses located near children's hospitals throughout the country and around the world so that families can stay near their sick children. Our practice manager has been supporting the RMH since college, Schneider family members stayed at a local RMH after their child was born with a serious defect, and one of our staff members was blessed to be able to stay at another local RMH while a child was seriously ill for several months. To support RMH, we have hosted several collection drives to gather supplies for families staying at the local houses. We invite our staff and patients to help us support these families as they face these most difficult days.
Stepping Stones Shelter
In our own county, there are many families who struggle to find housing, food and necessities for their children. Stepping Stones Shelter provides emergency food and shelter to Montgomery County families experiencing homelessness. In an effort to help, we hold food drives and school supplies drives to gather items for these families. We donate to Stepping Stones in hopes of making life a bit easier for these families.
